How to Replace a Disc Tip in Under a Minute
A disc tip is the only part of our disc styluses that wears out. When it gets scratched, bent or cloudy, the pen starts skipping. Replacing it takes less time than reading this page.
Every magnet-cap stylus carries one spare disc in its barrel, and our 6-pack keeps the next five ready.
Find the spare
Unscrew the back end of the magnet-cap stylus and tip the pen gently; the spare disc slides out of the barrel.
Pull out the old tip
Hold the metal shaft of the worn disc, not the disc itself, and pull it straight out of the pen.
Push in the new one
Line the new shaft up with the hole and press until it clicks into place. It should tilt freely on its ball joint.
Test on a blank page
Open a notes app and draw a few circles. If a stroke skips, press the tip in a little firmer.
Keep the used disc until the new one feels right; then it can go.
